Realizing there was a void in the restaurant scene for high quality barbecue, Steve and Liz Parker opened The Tulsa Rib Company in January, 1981. Within that first year, famous restaurant critics Elmer Dills, Herb Baus and Don Smith visited and discovered Tulsa Rib’s unique and delicious food. Once their reviews were published, the world now knew and came ‘a-callin’. The restaurant instantly became an Orange County BBQ staple and now has served over 3,000,000 barbecue meals and counting.
The Tulsa Rib Company is now known as much for its incredible catering as its restaurant’s famous menu. Tulsa Rib’s gourmet barbecue is in demand at family gatherings, business functions, large company picnics, and everything in between. Tulsa Rib caters over 750 events annually for clients that include Disney, Ford Motor Credit, AT&T, Fluor Daniel, Nordstroms, Valero, and Sempra Utilities to name just a few.
The Tulsa Rib Company has also enjoyed giving back to the community that has supported them for over 35 years. Every year Tulsa Rib works with charities and foundations such as: Mary’s Kitchen, Animal Assistance League of Orange County, Make-A-Wish and Education Foundation for Orange County.
In 2013, Tulsa Rib saddled up and moved to their current location at 220 East Katella Avenue, Orange 92867. With their new location Tulsa Rib now provides its hungry BBQ connoisseurs more booth seating, a large banquet room for families and company parties, and a convenient to-go window.
